Il Giardinetto - Italian classic

Hello everyone,

Here it is a classic of the city. This Italian restaurant is one of the oldest ones in the city (1974).
It is the typical place with old fashioned service, life piano music and cozy sofas to sit in. Personally, I love the ambience: quiet, really good music, excellent service, etc. It is a place where you want to go when you will like to have a nice conversation.

Almost all dishes are very good, they state that they best past dish is Spaghettis a la Sofia Lauren. But guys, there is a trick. They used to have a really good many, more diverse with spectacular pasta. For this reason, I always ask for the "hidden menu". Yes!! I always order Lemon Spaghettis a very refined taste that worth the try. In terms of price I would say that it is a quite expensive, around 20€ for a pasta specialty. You have to have in mind that you are paying more for the experience rather than the food.

What not to miss: Lemon Pasta and Escalopines de filete al Marsala.

GUT - Much better than expected.

I was thinking about writing this blog about a year ago. I don´t know if it because I was too lazy or maybe because I thought I wouldn´t be valuable for anyone I did not started. However, this weekend I decided to think about my first review. GUT will be the first one.

I have to say that I was surprised. Much better than expected.

To give you an idea of how vast the menu was, you could find dishes from 5 different continents (Hamburgers, curry, esqueixada, etc.) with an authentic touch of the typical cuisine of the Islas Canarias. The food is not amazing, but it is tasty. Everything tastes as you expect it to taste (a very good asset now a days) and dishes are visually beautiful.

It has to be saig that tables are really small, it is very difficult to fit a bottle of water + wine + bread + a dish to share in a table of two. Also, tables are so close ones to the other that you can follow other people´s conversation. However, here it comes the good part.... almost half of customers are tourist so if you are lucky you will be able to speak a language that they can´t follow. ;)

I reserved the best for the end, the personnel is amazing. They were really attentive and always ready to serve. They were always happy to explain you all dishes, and even explain the receipe for it. Really friendly enviroment where you don´t feel rushed to leave at any moment.

My personal recommendations: Almogavers Beer and Peus de Porc. (Do not forget about the home made cakes, they are delicious)
